anger

Everyone gets angry, an as stated before some more than others, and in some cases some much more than others.   Anger is an everyday occurrence in many people’s lives and that’s including my own.   I don’t handle stressful or annoying situation very well.  I get angry very quickly but I also cool down equally as fast.  One thing that always gets be angry is lying, or putting “words” in my mouth so to speak.  I absolutely cannot stand when some says I did or said something, when in actuality I never said or did any of it.  Following behind as close second is disrespect.  I try to be a very respectful person to pretty much everyone, and when someone decides not to respect me or something I care about I get pretty angry, pretty fast.

I believe I handle stress and anger pretty poorly.  I am not proud of it but I tend to think I get angry a little bit too quickly.  I forgive and forget very quickly as well but I do not believe it can fully make up for flying off the handlebars so to speak.  I find clenching my teeth and walking away saves me from saying things I don’t really mean.  I have tried the deep breath technique, I think it is more of an urban myth than anything else, I did not find it soothing whatsoever.

Everyone has struck out and someone or just completely lost it and said things they should of never said.  It is human nature for these interactions to occur at some point in everyone’s life.  I believe in a teenage boy’s life these times occur a little more frequently than most other people.  I flip out on someone in my life at least once or twice a month, although I do not strive to do so, some people just say and do the wrong things and there is no stopping it.  I believe the feelings that accompany flipping out on someone all depends on the circumstances and the factors that lead to me flipping out.  Sometimes if it is absolutely not my fault, which is a rare occasion, I feel relieved and almost happy, like I set things straight.  But if stress has gotten the better half of me, and I fly off the handle bars over something silly I feel guilty and sometimes almost ashamed.

I am not sure I am the best person on giving advice on how to control your anger.   But I believe a good thing to keep in mind is an open mind.  Try not to be so inflexible, do not take things so personally and try and let things go to the best of your abilities.  That is all that is asked for, getting angry is unavoidable but I believe if you try hard attacking a person verbally or physically can be avoided, it just takes discipline and self control.
